Bio: Shona Shikira Folosa Barel Roberts is a twenty-five-year-old currently enrolled in the University of the West Indies Cave Hill campus as an undergraduate studying Literatures in English. Her passion for the arts has grown over the past years. She began writing poetry as a way to capture the hearts of her teenage crushes; however, the death of her younger brother led to a more serious approach to poetry writing. Many of her pieces are centered on the female and the female body. Through her writings, she intends to call attention to the issues that plague women, and someday she hopes to have a collection of poems that celebrate “the vagina.”
