Summer 2010 - One More Step
Published on June 21, 2010
Issue #4
While reviewing pieces for our fourth issue, we at Sphere realized that each of the writers submitting to us this season had tuned into something vital not only in writing, but in life. As hard as it can be to begin something, or to see something end, there is another difficulty that can be forgotten in the flow of a poem or a story: the struggle to carry on. One More Step is an issue that examines the choices people make in the middle of things, whether they’re up against the unsolvable problems of a culture’s past or a failed memory, or even looking for a way out of old love. While the steps we take may not always be in the right direction, the most important thing is to keep moving — allowing, inducing, and embracing change. We want to thank all of the wonderful contributing writers this season. Together, we proudly take one more step forward.
