The First Letter of God

In Hebrew,
God’s Name
begins with this:
י
An apostrophe possibly,
a period hanging
out of place.
A modest character,
hoping the eye
will pass it by
if it hides well enough.
The English God isn’t shy,
The spiraling G
pulling us into its vortex
of divine guidance.
It reads of power, and
importance.
Instead, we start with nothing,
which expands into everything,
י
a potential particle,
the humble point of creation.
